The Equal Opportunity Representative advocates for parents and informal caregivers in a variety of ways. She is networked with relevant departments at the University and can thus get directly involved with parents. On the one hand, she offers personal counseling, but she also works together with the Human Resources Department and the Staff Council in the working groups „Family-friendly University“ and „Human Resources Development“ to promote family-friendly regulations. Thus, the „MiKi-Tag“ (Bring your child to work-day), telework, flexible working time models, and the checklist for expectant parents could be established, among other things. A guide for superiors on how to deal with family-related breaks has also been created as a result of the cooperation.

The regulations on maternity protection, parental leave and family care leave are constantly being revised by the legislature and adapted to the needs of families. You can always find up-to-date information on these topics on the University website in the section „Service A-Z“.
